Rose Mary Ann Laskey, Age 91 of Manistee died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.
She was born on April 6, 1927 in Manistee, the daughter of the late Edward & Sophie (Smogolecki) Waligorski. She attended Manistee High School. On October 19, 1946 she married Floyd J. Laskey at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2008.
Rose Mary was employed for 30 years at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility where she was the Diversional Activities Director.
She was a member of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Shrine where she was also a member of the Altar Society. She loved baking, enjoyed reading, and following the various activities of her family members.
Survivors include one daughter & son-in-law; Judy & Roger Werly of Traverse City, One son & daughter-in-law; Dennis & Jean Laskey of Manistee, three grandchildren & their spouses; Richard & Jennifer Laskey, Scott & Jennifer Dontz, and Polly & Matthew Schneider, four step-grandchildren & their spouses; Rodney & Dawn Werly, Scott & Michelle Werly, Roxanne & Ron Goetz, and Rhonda & Michael Smorong, 6 great grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren, 2 step great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Jean Waligorski of Manistee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother; Edward Waligorski, and one sister; Mary Ann (Harold) Sielski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 at Saint Mary’s of Mount Carmel Shrine with Father Zeljko Guberovic celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
