Obituary for Angela Carmel McDonald

Angela Carmel McDonald, age 52, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at her home in the arms of her loving husband. Angie was born April 3, 1966 to David and Sally Reid in Canton, Ohio. Angie’s family moved to Thompsonville, Michigan when she was young. Angie attended Benzie Central High School where at 17; she met her high school sweetheart, Mike McDonald. They were married March 21, 1988 in Kaleva, Michigan.

Angie enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to fish and work in her garden. Her work was important to her as well. Angie started her career as a candy striper at Paul Oliver Hospital as a teen. That led her to work with people who had mental and physical challenges for nearly 30 years. She cared very much for those she helped. Her kindness extended to all, if she knew someone was in need, she helped any way she could. For her final act of selflessness, Angie was an organ donor. Angie affected many people’s lives and she will be deeply missed.

Angie is survived by her husband, Mike McDonald of Bear Lake, Michigan, her father, Dave Reid of Ohio, her brother, Dusty Reid of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Angie also had some very close friends who loved her as a sister.

Angie was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Reid, and her sister, Natalie Kortz.

Angie requested that there be no funeral services. She will be interred at Springdale Township Cemetery, Thompsonville, Michigan. In remembrance of Angie, please consider organ donation.
