Minta K. Peebles, age 88, of Ludington passed away, Monday, March 19, 2018 at her home. She was born July 31, 1929 in Custer, MI to Raymond and Mary (Harvey) James. She graduated from Mason County Central.
Minta worked for Canes Manufacturing for over 20 years. In her spare time, she loved music, playing it, writing it, and listening to it. She also enjoyed being generous to numerous charities and she loved spending time with her numerous grandchildren.
Minta is survived by her children, Douglas (Bobbie) Lemere of Ludington, Shirley (Joseph) Schichtel of Buckley, Luci (Steve) Stauffer of Grand Island, NE, Linda (Scott) Kessner of Grawn, Toni (Larry) Way of South Boardman, and Gary and Mary, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, her two sisters, Nellie Todd and Shirley (Lyle) Bidwell, and her very dear friend, Earl Hilden, and his daughter Becky (Rob) and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Minta was preceded in death by her children, Joni Lemere and William Lemere Jr., and several siblings.
The family would like to express special thanks for the special care and compassion by Minta’s granddaughter’s Ginger Malone, Debbie Lemere, and Kelly King, also, a special thank you to Hospice of Michigan.
A celebration of life will be held May 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at UAW Union Hall on First St. in Ludington.
Memorial contributions in Minta’s name may be directed to a charity of donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
