After mom died (Larry's older sister Sharon), he and Vada arranged two Family Reunions in the summers of 2005 and 2006. If we arrived at his home any time before noon--on any day--we were offered, and presented with, the perfect fried egg. Uncle Larry not only cooked and served the perfect egg, but he chatted with the egg recipient before, during, and after cooking. He made sure you felt special, so special to be receiving that special egg--and the advice, banter, and conversation that came with it affirmed that he loved that egg eater. There was never a doubt about that, whether you were 10 or 45-years old. And there never seemed to be a shortage of eggs. Or egg recipients. He must have worn out his spatula but I'm sure he has a golden one in heaven and is serving perfect eggs to Aunt Vada and mom, Aunt Dianne and Uncle Eric, Grandma, and Steve right now. And though I never was able to duplicate the perfect fried egg (or grandma's amazing pancakes either), I still treasure the love and the memories.
This picture was taken at Melissa's wedding with my 3 daughters, Beniece, Casey and Megan. Another treasured memory!
