Obituary for Ann Eloise Payment

Ann Eloise Payment died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 18 at the young age of 101.

Ann is survived by her two sons Patrick Payment (Dee), Michael Payment, grandchildren Chris (Terri) Payment, Cathy Payment, Tim Payment, Megan Josefowicz (Brian) and Josh Buck. She also has five great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Hoyt Payment, daughter-in-law Julie Payment (Michael), parents and three siblings.

Ann was born on July 11, 1916 in Ludington MI to William Findling and Blanch McKerty. She attended St. Simon’s Catholic school. In 1940, she married Hoyt and together they welcomed two sons. Ann was a very confident and proud woman who worked very hard as Ludington’s first real estate agent for her brother John Findling. While married to Hoyt, they opened Ludington Paint and Glass followed by Sportsman’s in 1955.

A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Simon Catholic Church, with Rev. Wayne Wheeler presiding. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of service. A light luncheon will be held in the family center following the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann’s life. In lieu of flowers the family is inviting friends and family to make a donation in Ann’s name to Harbor Hospice or the food pantry at the Lakeshore Resource Center.
