Obituary for Gail Ann Mittlestat (Pritchett)

Gail Ann Mittlestat, age 78 of Irons, MI, passed away peacefully in her home on December 31, 2017.
Gail was born May 15, 1939 in Sandusky, MI to the late Orla Pritchett and Mary Evelyn (Tucker) Pritchett. She attended Sandusky High School, graduating in 1957 and Eastern Michigan University, graduating in 1961.
Gail married the love of her life, Charles Leonard Mittlestat, on July 1, 1961 at the Watertown Zion Methodist Church in Sandusky, MI. They shared 51 years together before his passing on Sept. 22, 2012.
Gail enriched the lives of many students over her 30 year career as an educator in the Trenton, Gibraltar, and Woodhaven-Brownstown school districts. She was a past member of the Rockwood Jaycees Auxiliary, the Huron Valley Reformed Church and the Irons Area Tourist Association. Gail enjoyed spending time gardening, reading, crocheting, watching sports on TV (Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, U of M, MSU) and playing with her beloved dog, Banjo. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband Charles, brother Roger Pritchett, and sister Sally Schell.
Survivors include her daughters Mary Mittlestat of Grosse Ile and Amy (Mittlestat) Sobieralski of Hillsdale, son-in-law Frank Sobieralski, and grandsons; John Korody, Nathan Doan, Dylan Sobieralski, Carter Doan and William Doan.
Services for Gail will Be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Countryside Free Methodist Church - 912 W. Sanilac Rd., Sandusky,MI 48471 with pastor Chris Black officiating.
Memorials in Gail’s name can be directed to Munson Hospice of Cadillac or the Humane Society of Branch County.
