Bette Lou Brown, Age 84 of Bear Lake died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 2, 1933 in Island Lake, WI the daughter of the late Theodore & Eutha (Nelson) Kern. She was a graduate of Siren High School Class of 1952. On December 3, 1955 she married Merle Wayne Brown in Pine City, MN.
A homemaker, Bette assisted in the day to day operations of the family orchards.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Onekama. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, & embroidery and along with her daughter Loree she was part of Mom & Me Embroidery.
Survivors include her husband; Merle W. Brown of Bear Lake, her five children; Robert (Lauri) Brown of Onekama, Lynn (Rick) Jensen of Manistee, Peter (Mary) Brown, Loree Brown, & Joey (Belen) Brown all of Bear Lake, her eleven grandchildren; Ted (Kaylie) Brown, Marianne (Josh) Berryhill, Emily (Jake) Torongo, Josh Ware, Jason (Bridget) Ware, Jake (Kristin) Ware, Jenna Ware, Justin & Cody Brown, and Andre & Liliana Brown, and 16 Great Grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her nine siblings.
Funeral Services for Bette Lou Brown will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with Pastor Frances Townsend officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 PM and on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time of service.
