Obituary for Cody Allen Smith

Cody Allen Smith, 24, of Scottville, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 following an automobile accident.

Cody was born on October 11, 1993 in Manistee, the son of Jeremy Smith and Jody (Larr) Carlson. Cody graduated from Mason County Eastern High School in 2012, received his Associates Degree from Ferris State University and currently worked for Packaging Corporation of America in Manistee. Cody always made the best of everything, with a smile on his face. He was a hard worker and emotionally strong. There wasn't a fish he didn't like to catch.

Cody is survived by his parents, Jody Carlson and Jeremy Smith; step-dad, Leo Whitaker; siblings, Justin Smith and Waylin Coolman; grandparents, Jackie Johnson, Wayne Larr, David and Cindy Martz, Wayne Smith, and Janet Hutmacher; aunts and uncles, Staci (Joe) Wood, Brian and Bradley Larr, and Jason Smith; and many other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Ludington, with visitation starting at noon. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6-8 pm, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family: Jody Carlson.
