Obituary for Charles William Austin

Charles William  Austin
Charles W. Austin, age 60, of Ludington passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born November 16, 1957 in Ludington to Charles and Shirley (Benson) Austin.
Charles graduated from Scottville High School in 1976. He married Colleen Clancy on January 31, 1976 in Ludington. Together they raised two children, Charles and Charleen. Charles retired from Metal works as a Plant Supervisor after 40 years with the company.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and later in life, golf. When there was time, Charles and Colleen also loved to travel. His favorite trip was to Los Vegas. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Charles will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 42 years, Colleen; his children: Charleen (Jeremy) Foster of Greenville and Chuck (Krystal) Austin of Ludington; six grandchildren: Logan and Noah Foster, Katlyn Knudsen, Charles, Jocelyn, and Jude Austin; his mother, Shirley (Jerome) Rybicki; his siblings: Robert (Bonnie) Austin, Cheryl Devers, Jerry (Lori) Austin, and Julie (Sam Seymour) Martz.
Charles was preceded in death by his father.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. A funeral will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, also at the funeral home. Charles will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
Memorial contributions in Charles’ name may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Ludington.
