Obituary for Mary Lou Miller

Mary Lou Miller
Mary Lou Miller, age 85, of Ludington passed away, Thursday, December 7, 2017. She was born May 5, 1932 in Scottville to Leslie and Mary (Kava) Pratt. She graduated from Scottville High School. She married the late Robert Emery Miller on January 27, 1951. Together they raised two daughters.
Mary Lou worked for Watch Case as a general laborer for a few years before going to work for Gibbs Country House where she worked for 17 years. After leaving there, she retired from Scotty’s Restaurant where she worked for 5 years.
One of Mary Lou’s hobbies was hair dressing. She took time, later in life, to get her cosmetology license and she enjoyed doing that in her spare time. She also enjoyed going to yard sales, crocheting, and refinishing furniture. Mary Lou was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. Once that closed, she joined St. Mary’s in Custer. She loved being a part of the choir.
Mary Lou will be greatly missed by her daughters: Patricia (Peter) Dewey of Scottville and Jessica (Tim) Danielson of Ludington; five grandchildren: Rose Haynor, Bob Dewey, Jordanna Danielson, Jayden Danielson, and Gabriel Danielson; three great grandchildren: Amedy, Austen, and Kyle; two great great grandchildren: Gavin and Aubrey; her brother, Larry Pratt, and many beloved extended family members.
Besides her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her Husband, Robert and her sister Helen Howe.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Custer with visitation one hour prior.
