Obituary for Milton Oscar "Mickey" Peterson, Jr.

Milton Oscar “Mickey” Peterson, Jr, of Manistee died unexpectedly Friday on his 74th birthday.
He was born on November 10, 1943 in Manistee, MI the son of the late Milton Oscar & Gloria J.
(Schrader) Peterson. He was a 1961 graduate of Manistee High School. He married Norene M. Schimke on February 8, 1964 at the Church of the Nazarene in Manistee. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2016.
Mickey was employed as a service engineer in the plastic injection molding industry. He had been employed by Van Dorn Demag of Strongsville, Ohio, Ventra Plastics of Evart, Michigan, and recently with Absolute Haitian Corporation of Parma, Ohio.
“Mickey” was always quick witted…he enjoyed his time with family and friends.
He is survived by his son & his wife; Craig & Lynn Peterson and their son; Kyle all of Onekama, his sister; Melody Peterson of Jenison, brothers-in-law; John (Jane) Schimke of Manistee and Larry (Martha) Schimke of Onekama, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter; Kaitlyn Peterson, brother-in-law; Darwin (Gloria) Schimke, and in-laws; Henry & Marie (Olson) Schimke.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee.
Memorials in Mickey’s name may be directed to the Cowell Family Cancer Center,1105 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.
