Obituary for Jack Dale Ball

Jack Dale Ball
Jack Dale Ball, Age 82 of Manistee died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility.
He was born on November 7, 1934 in Detroit, MI the son of Clifford N. & Muretta (Olson) Ball. Jack attended Manistee High School. He married Shirley Thebault on October 27, 1979 in Manistee.
Jack had been employed by Excello Corporation, Martin Marietta, and Ron Brown & Sons. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, and motorcycle riding.
He was very active in the Manistee community, currently serving on the Manistee County Transportation Board, the Filer Township Zoning Board of Appeals, and Board of Review. He was a Life Member of the Manistee Elks Lodge #250.
Jack’s past memberships included the Lions Club, the Rotary Club where he was past president and secretary as well as a Paul Harris Fellow Award Member, and the Manistee Recreation Association Board where he was also a past president. He also had been a Junior Achievement Advisor, Forest Festival Parade Co-Chairman, and 1991 Forest Festival Citizen of The Year.
He is survived by his wife; Shirley and brothers-in-law; Tom & Jerome Thebault all of Manistee.
He was preceded in death by his father; Clifford Neely Ball, his mother; Muretta (Olson) Ball-Zielinski, step-father; Ernest Zielinski, and sisters-in-law; Julie (Nickleson) Thebault and Mary (Johnson) Thebault.
Cremation has taken place, and Memorial Services will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with Pastor George Butler officiating. Memorial Services by the Manistee Elks Lodge #250 will follow.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Memorials in Jack’s name may be directed to the Glass, Sticks, & Bricks Building Maintenance Fund at the Manistee Congregational Church.
