Obituary for Gordon "Pete" Jones

Gordon (Pete) Jones, 78, of Manton, Michigan was born on Feb. 18, 1939. He passed away on Oct. 21, 2017 surrounded by loved ones in his home in Cadillac.

He was the son of Berneta and Clarence Jones and attended Manton School. He was married to Susan M. Short on Aug. 15, 1970 at Manton Baptist Church. He was employed as a meat cutter (butcher) at Bob’s Market and Swick’s in Tustin and also a heavy equipment operator in Ludington and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers 324 for 25 years.

He was a member of Boon Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching NASCAR Racing as well as spending time with his grand children.
He is survived by his wife Susan Jones, brother Terry (Zeb) Jones and wife Helen, daughter Toni Gray, daughter Kim Duncan, son Bob Jones, Mark and husband Michael Jones, daughter Tonya Jones and Ed McDonald, and Tammie and husband Greg Grulke. He was also survived by 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ted Jones, Chuck Jones and Bill Jones as well as his daughter Kelly and son Michael and granddaughters Arika, Mallory and Araina Jones also, son-in law Jim Duncan. A luncheon will be held Thursday, Oct. 26 at the American Legion in Cadillac from 1 to 4 p.m.
Cremation has taken place by Oak Grove Funeral Homes and Cremation Center.
