Darby Nummerdor, 23 of Manistee passed on to be with his Creator and many family members waiting to embrace him on September 10, 2017. He was born in Manistee the son of Melissa Waitner and the late John Nummerdor.
Darby Vernon Nummerdor was born in Manistee on July 21st, 1994 weighting a mere 4lbs 11ozs and we didn’t think he would make it, especially to grow to the size of the man he was. He was as large in stature as he was in life. He enjoyed having a good time and from all accounts was the life of the party.
Darby, like many men who passed before him loved the outdoors. All summer he couldn’t wait till it got colder as fall and winter were his favorite seasons. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and a strong tracker. When he shot, he seldom, if ever missed. Many a freezer was full thanks to him.
He LOVED tattoos, in fact, had well over 100 of them. He was becoming quite accomplished at giving them as well. He was an amazing artist even though he didn’t think so. Darby was also a creative writer who just had a way with words.
Although he had his moments, hardly a cross word ever crossed his lips and he felt everything very deeply and would ponder on everything most likely too much. He also forgave quickly.
Darby was the type of young man that even if he wanted something or even needed it, he would give it to someone else without question.
Darby had an eclectic taste in music. Music was everything to him, it could change his mood or intensify it. He would listen to everything, especially country, classic rock, mental (Marilyn Manson), rap, current music and 80’s Big Hair Bands if his mom forced him. In fact his ring tone was AC/DC.
He loved movies and had quite an extensive collection. He would play video games for hours with his friends and brothers Henry and Cameron. He didn’t like it too much when his 10 year old brother would beat him!
Family and friends was of the utmost importance to Darby. And although he had a strong love for ALL his family he had a special fondness that stretched the realms of this earth for his mom, brother’s Henry and Cameron and of course his Gram Connie.
Darby is survived by his mom, Melissa Waitner, brothers, Henry (MaCayla) Nummerdor, Cameron Mitchell, Bruce (Winter) Cudney, Tanya (Jake) Guenthardt, and Kaleb Long. Nieces and nephews Madison, Bailey, Orion, Caiden and Oliver. Grandmother Connie Waitner, Auntie Andrea Waitner, Uncle Karl (Shelley) Waitner, Aunt Tamara Nummerdor, Aunt Veronica (Butch) Heffron, Aunt Elizabeth (Andy) Magner, Aunt Sandy (Steve) Mezeske and Aunt Bonnie Kenny. Also by his Step-mom Sherie Nummerdor. And numerous cousins. He is also survived by two of his closest friends Phil Carlson and Pooter David and girlfriend Heather Magmer.
Darby is preceded in death by his Grandfather Bruce Nummerdor (01/2007), Uncle Lawrence (Butch) Lempke (02/1999), Grandpie Karl Waitner (07/2016), Uncle Joel Kenny (09/2016), Great Grandmother (Lil G) (01/2017), Dad John Nummerdor (01/2017), Grandmother Arlene Nummerdor (09/2017).
Our family knows that Darby is now embraced by the loved ones that have already laid the path before him and he will be eternally fishing with his Grandpie, Lil Gram and dad, skeet shooting with his Grandpa Bruce and most likely being a tad scolded by his Grandma Arlene.
