Obituary for Gordon Shepler

Gordon D. Shepler, 76, of Pentwater, passed away on August 19, 2017.
Gordy was born on July 23, 1941 in Williamston, the son of Dale and Florence “Floddy” (Williams) Shepler. He graduated from Ludington High School in 1959 and married Priscilla “Pinky” Earl on July 1, 1961. Gordy worked for the railroad for 12 years, then owned Shepler’s Odd Job Service for 10 years. Later, he became a “merchandise relocator”, driving truck from Grand Rapids to California nearly every week for 23 years, with his sweetie by his side. Gordy was a member of the Pere Marquette Historical Motoring Club, the NRA, and formerly the Eagles and Moose. Gordy was a stubborn German who loved woodcarving, making knives, hunting, snowmobiling, and riding around on the dune buggy.
Gordy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Priscilla “Pinky” Shepler; children, Dale Charles “Woody” Shepler and Celeste Monique Shepler; grandchildren, Ryan W. Shepler and Dakota C. Shepler, and his nieces and nephews.
Gordy was preceded in death by his parents and brother Sherwood (Nancy) Shepler.
There are no services at this time, but please raise your glass and have a toast in Gordy’s name.
Arrangements were entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Ludington.
