Michael James Underwood, Sr., 60, of Branch, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Michael was born on September 17, 1956 in Ludington. He started delivering newspapers at age 12 and attended Jenison and Ludington Schools before starting his career as a truck driver. Michael was forced to retired due to health issues from Eagle Xpress after 20 years of dedicated service. He and his wife, Teresa, spent their days traveling around on his motorcycle, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially spending time and joking with his grandchildren. Years ago, Michael was a member of the Mason County Motorcycle Club, which he was very proud of helping establish.

Michael is survived by his sons, Michael (Sarah) Underwood II, Matthew (Nikki) Underwood; adopted son, Joseph (Sarah) Underwood; step-children, Douglas (Jodie) Hathaway, Jaela (Frank) Solis, Jason (Robbieann) Hathaway, Alex (Lauren) Hathaway, and Tina (Jeremy) Hudson; siblings, Dawn (Steven) Hansen, Tracy (George) Martin, Richard (Deb) Anes Jr., and Steven (Allison) Anes; 22 grandchildren, one great grandchild. and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Michael will be greatly missed by his faithful companion and semi partner, Misti his dog.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Marilee “Miki” and Richard Anes Sr; wife Teresa; and brothers, John Underwood and Andrew Anes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 2 from 1-4 at The UAW Union Hall at 807 Cobb Lane. Ludington. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, to help cover funeral expenses.
