Obituary for Robert Brody

Robert Melvin Brody, age 84, of Ludington, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Oakview Medical Care Facility of Ludington, following a long brave struggle with heart failure.
Bob was born on April 19, 1933 in Ludington; son of the late Isadore and May (Goodman) Brody.
He was a resident of Mason County, a place that he loved very much. He graduated with the class of 1951. He enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Once home from serving his country he built his career as owner and operator of Brody Auto Parts, Scottville Automotive and Scottville Storage Company. He also served on various community, state and national boards and committees.
Bob loved flying his airplane and working on antique cars. Following his retirement he and his wife enjoyed their winters in Florida for many years. During this time Bob spent time flying volunteer rescue patrols, judging antique cars shows, assisting his Village at Indian Creek Association via various committees and golfing.
He was a kind and gentle man. He was deeply loved by his surviving wife, Michal (Hack) Brody and family, sons: Michael, Mark (Brenda) Brody, Tim Tarkington; daughter: Michal Shannon (Brian) LaCombe; grandsons: Jake and Mitchel Brody, and Parker and Peyton LaCombe.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Arthur Brody and sister in-law Sybil Brody
Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place in celebration of Bob’s life at a later date.
