Richard Kenneth Ferris, age 52 of Ludington, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at home.
Richard was born on May 3, 1964 in Ludington; son of the late Richard and Carolyn (Palm) Ferris.
He attended Mason County Eastern Schools; then joined the Army in 1983. He served in Germany for a full year. When he returned home, he worked as a millwright for Brill Co. He was the president of the Ludington Eagles and a past member of the Fountain Fire Department. He enjoyed playing pool, woodworking, the great outdoors and riding his moped. His favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers.
Richard is survived by his sisters: Karen Nielsen and Laurie Brunk; nephew: Jason Brunk; niece: Stephanie Brunk and four great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: James Ferris; sister: Lynn (Ferris) Todeman and nephew: Jeff Ferris.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Buck Mallion and David Patten for being like brothers to Richard and taking care of him through his battle, leading to his final rest.
