Obituary for Carl Howard Howell

Carl Howard  Howell
Carl Howard Howell, 72, of Ludington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

Carl was born on November 1, 1944 in Lansing, son of the late Roy and Blanche (Simmon) Howell Jr. He graduated from Holt High School in 1962, and served in the United States Navy. Carl married Susan Murphy on September 23, 1967, and raised three wonderful sons. Carl retired from General Motors in 1997 after 30 years of service. Carl loved his family and friends dearly, and was a devoted Christian.

Carl enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and spending time on the lake with family and friends. He was always proud watching the many activities of his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Carl is survived by his wife, Susan Howell; sons, Tod (Michele) Howell, Thomas (Erica) Howell, and Timothy Howell; grandchildren, Jonah, Emma, Leah, Caleb, and Zac; brother, Gary (Terry) Howell; sister-in-law, Sandy Hellman; and numerous beloved family members.

Preceding Carl in death are his parents, Roy and Blanche Howell, his brother, Thomas Howell, and nephew, Brian McDonald.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing, with visitation starting at 10 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Savior Lutheran School Endowment Fund.

A Celebration of Life will also be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ludington, with visitation starting at 10 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army Food Bank of Ludington, Helping Hands Ministry, or St. John’s Lutheran Church of Ludington.
