Ruth Christine (Anderson) Hickok - Strong, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on February 16, 2017. Ruth was born December 22, 1938 in Ludington to Carl and Helen (Thomas) Anderson.
Ruth enjoyed gardening & hobby farming with her first husband Roy, working in the medical field as an X-ray Tech and Lab Tech, she served as the Brown Township Clerk for several years and loved to travel, and became an avid MSU fan thanks to her second husband Edgar.
Ruth is survived by her children, Rhonda (Jim) Dafoe, Nadine (Marty) Earley, Brenda (Jack) Boukma, Greg (Carrie) Hickok, Jeff (Lisa) Hickok, Andrea (Dave) Pinner, Renee (Ryan) Johnson, and their children, Jason, Anne, Erin, Katrina, Shelby, Christopher, Kayleigh, Samantha, Jacob, Zachary, Kelsey, Elana, Rebecca, Brendan, Caden, Sarah, Sydney and her great-grandchildren, Carson, Carleigh, Caela,Sophia, Riley, Declan, Kole, Kyndall, Kane, James and Amy, and her ‘favorite’ sister Rita Anderson.
Her stepchildren, Lee (Dale) Wittkop, Kay (Mark) Butcher, Susan (John Brahman) Strong, Nancy (Peter) Bencker, and Carol Strong and their children, Scott, Sarah, Emma, Analyse, Perry, and Alexander.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband & ‘love of her life’ Roy V. Hickok and her second husband Edgar Strong and her parents Carl and Helen (Thomas) Anderson.
Memorial services for Ruth will be Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 4pm at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Manistee with a light luncheon to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 2pm until the time of the service. Interment will be at Old School House Cemetery in Brown Township.
