Betty Louise Carlson

Betty Louise Carlson, age 79, of Ludington, passed away on Tuesday December 20, 2016 at home surrounded by family.
She was born on November 12, 1937 in Battle Creek, daughter of the late William E. and Elizabeth (Osborn) Greiner. She attended Ludington High School and graduated with the class of 1955.
Betty married Russell Edward Carlson on August 27, 1955 in Ludington at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Together Betty and Russell were the co-owners and operators of Stix Bar and Park Lanes in Ludington for many years.
Betty was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her family and enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and baking.
Betty is survived by her husband, Russell Edward Carlson; sons, Russell Lee Carlson and David (Sandra) Carlson; daughters, Laura (Sayre) Mender and Julie Carlson; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Betty’s life will be held in the spring of 2017. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be directed to either Hospice of Michigan 5177 West U.S. 10, Suite B, Ludington, MI 49431 or the American Cancer Society PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
