Carl David Krebs, Age 79 of Manistee died Friday evening December 16, 2016 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born on June 25, 1937 in Ohio City, Ohio the son of the late Carl William & Juanita Margaret (Burger) Krebs. He married Colleen Ann Washneske on June 1, 1957 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2015.
Carl was employed as a millwright at Packaging Corporation of American for over 40 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish (St. Joseph Church), the Knights of Columbus, and past member of the Filer Township DDA and Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed sports, bowling, playing blooper ball, and coaching basketball. He was a beginner of many handyman projects.
Survivors include three daughters; Lori Krebs of Manistee, Holly Dapolito of West Bloomfield, and Tanya (Davin) Reckow of Kingsley, a son-in-law; Bob Schultz of Stronach, five grandchildren; Nathan Helminiak, Sara and Emilee Schultz, and Grace & Anders Reckow, siblings; Jim (Roberta) Krebs of Arizona, Bill (Marlene) Krebs of Flint, Dan Krebs of Whitmore Lake, Marcy Brown and Kathy (John) Gorman all of Florida, and Gene (Cathy) Krebs of Virginia, Nieces and Nephews, and good friends and neighbors; John and Lynn Gorman.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter; Melanie Schultz, a grandson; Matthew Bryan Helminiak, and a sister; Marilyn Cline.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass on Tuesday.
