Obituary for Claude Loren Cregg

Claude Loren Cregg
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Claude Loren Cregg, age 80 of Ludington, and formerly of Scottville passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016.

He was born on May 12, 1936 in Holton Township, Muskegon County, Michigan, son of the late Harris and Frances (Swenson) Cregg. Claude married the love of his life Carol Beebe on May 4, 1957 in Holton, MI. She preceded him in death in 2001.

In 1960 the family moved to Scottville, and Cregg Farms on Fountain Road was established. Claude and his family raised and milked dairy cows. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

Claude is survived by his 4 daughters, Claudia (Gene) Wilks of Scottville, Colleen (Rod) Brookens of Fremont, Cleo (Dale) Smith of Manistee and Cathy (David) Malkowski of Free Soil; son, Charlie (Lori) Cregg of Fountain; sisters: Vera Kempf of Holton and Gail (George) McLachlan of Evart; brothers: Ed (Betty) of Fremont and John (Mary) of Ludington; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol; granddaughter, Erica Wilks; and brothers, Ben and Bill Cregg; brother in-law: Alvin Kempf of Holton.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday November 25, 2016 at Victory Trinity Lutheran Church in Ludington with Pastor William Huether officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00PM until time of service. Final interment will take place at South Victory Township Cemetery in Ludington.
