Myron Richard (Dick) Delavergne, age 81 of Ludington, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at home.
He was born on July 10, 1935 in Ludington, son of the late Myron A. and Louise (Meisenheimer) Delavergne in Hart, MI. He attended Ludington Schools and graduated with the class of 1953.
Myron married Cora J. Graham on August 16, 1955 at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater. He lived in the Pentwater/Ludington area for more than seventy years. He worked for his Grandmother, Parents and Mr. Broder on local farms. He worked well with his hands. He owned Rainbow Valley Trout Farm for many years. He eventually started working as a switchman for the Railroad; filling in as a conductor at times. He retired from the Railroad after thirty years. He was an active member of the Summit Church of Christ. He was dedicated to God and his church family; as well as his immediate family and close friends. His hobbies included fishing gardening and enjoying time in the woods. He had a talent utilizing twigs and tree knots to create pieces of art for his friends and family.
Myron is survived by his wife: Cora (Graham) Delavergne; daugters: Dawn (Bob) Northrup and Diane (Chuck) Seward; son: Dale (Sandra) Delavergne; grandchildren: Jason (Jamie) Gogocha, Alisha (Eli) Fierro and family, Justin Delavergne, Myron (Kayla) Northrup, Nichole (Chole) Northrup, Shelby, Stephanie and Meredith Delavergne; sister: Ann (Dennis) Miczulski; great-grandchildren: Natalie and Nathan Northrup, and Owen Glotnis; sister in-laws: Lois Johnson, Marge Reid and Altha Graham; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held at Summit Church of Christ in Ludington on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. There will be a one hour visitation starting at 6:00 P.M. prior to the service; also, a time of fellowship after the service at the church.
