Stephen C. Davis, age 75 of Grawn, died on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer and a heart condition.
He was born June 18, 1940 in Cornell, Michigan the son of the late Earl and Malvina (Bellefeuille) Davis. He served in the United States Air Force from December 2, 1959 to November 29, 1963. On July 1, 1967 he married Betty S. Dean in Muskegon County. He was employed as a machinist at Manistee Drop Forge Company from 1968 to 1983 and at Carpenter Enterprises in Traverse City from 1985 to 2009.
Steve enjoyed playing guitar, watching sports especially football, playing pool with the boys, and just spending time with his family. The “Fix It Man” was always ready to lend a hand to family and friends with any type of project. He will always be remembered for his unusual sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Steve (Colleen), Dennis (Lacy), Angel (David) Ford; grandchildren, Nathan, Vicky, Shanden, Brooke, Joshua, Angela, Anna, Alexander, Joseph; 4 great-grandchildren; God-daughter, Nikki (Jason)Torrey; God-son, Keith (Carrie) Dean; brother-in-law: Warren Jones and sister-in-law: Joanne Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lucy Little, Ethel Wackernagle, Eileen Willette, Charles Davis, Joyce Hardwick, Barbara Jones and Jeanine Davis.
Funeral services will held at 1:00 P.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Bear Lake United Methodist Church with Pastor Jane Logston officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial & Military Graveside Services will be in the spring at Bear Lake Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
