Obituary for Margaret Bessie Dodson (Carlson)

Margaret Bessie Dodson

Margaret Bessie Dodson, age 75 of Ludington passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday December 28, 2015 at home.
She was born on August 16, 1940 in Ludington, daughter of the late Louis and Mable (Genter) Carlson. Margaret attended Foster Elementary and Ludington High School, graduating with the class of 1958. She later attended West Shore Community College and graduated with her Associated Degree in Nursing in 1986.
Margaret married Richard Albert Dodson on November 4, 1961 at a log cabin in Walhalla. Margaret worked as a Registered Nurse at Oakview Medical Care Facility until her retirement.
She attended the Wesleyan Church of Scottville and enjoyed playing cards with her daughter Cathy and going to bingo with her friend, Delores Hakanson.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Richard A. Dodson of Ludington; 4 daughters, Cathleen (James) Wiles of Ludington, Diana (Thomas) Draghi of Florida, Vicki (Mike) Saenz of Bay City and Becky (Shaun Hansen) Dodson; son, Daniel (Angie) Dodson of Ludington; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis (Rosie) Carlson and Donald (Shirley) Carlson both of Ludington; brother-in-law, Thomas (Darlene) Dodson of Fountain; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Andrew Carlson; brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, James and Jean Dodson, also father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray Richard and Eleanor Dodson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday December 31, 2015 at Oak Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Warmuskerken officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday December 30, 2015 from 5:00 till 7:00PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home and again on Thursday morning from 10:00AM until time of service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
