Rosalie O’Connell, age 84 of Ludington passed away on Saturday September 12, 2015 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Rosalie was born on July 30, 1931 in Romulus, New York daughter of the late Luther and Gertrude (Youngs) Holmes. She attended Central High School in Ovid, NY and graduated in 1949. Rosalie served in the US Army from August 15, 1950 until her discharge in November 25, 1952. On October 4, 1952 in Ludington Rosalie married Daniel R. O’Connell who preceded her in death on January 1, 2005.

She was a past member of the American Legion Post #76. Rosalie enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her great grandchildren.

Rosalie is survived by her three grandchildren, Tonya (Richard James) Vida, Krista (Daniel) Rodriguez, and Shawn (Kelli Busk) O’Connell all of Ludington; 11 great grandchildren, Abigail, River, Madilyn, Alex, Lianna, Austin, Alizay, Alexandria, Zander, Olivia, Zachary; “daughter”/best friend, Cheryl (Gary) Green of Pentwater.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Daniel K. O’Donnell; and great grandson, Clayton O’Connell.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Final internment will take place at Bushnell National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Memorial contributions in Rosalie’s name may be directed to her family in care of Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
