Lorraine Johnson Quinn, age 89, of Ludington passed away on December 13, 2014 at Ludington Woods Assisted Living.
Lorraine Johnson Quinn was born in Ludington on October 8, 1925 to the late Walter H. and Velma Evelyn Gould Johnson. She has lived in Ludington all her life where she and her husband raised their three children. She attended Foster School and graduated from Ludington High School in the class of 1944, she was proud of having been an officer. She married her high school sweetheart on February 10, 1945 at Biggs Army Airfield, El Paso. Texas.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 69 years, John Quinn; three children, Kaye (Donald) Flickinger of Big Rapids, John (Joan) Quinn of Scottville and James (Julie) Quinn of Ludington; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister Ruth Thompson of Booneville, MO; brother Walt Johnson of Ludington; sister- in- law Joan Quinn of Hart and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; sisters- in- law Dolly Johnson, Marge Bottrell, Dorothy Johnson, Virginia Quinn, Leota Piazza; and brothers- in- law Neiland Thompson, Tom Johnson, Robert Bottrell, Tony Piazza, Earnest, Tim, Mickey and Donald Quinn.
Mrs. Quinn was a homemaker at heart and excelled at knitting, tatting and crocheting and teaching others to do the same. She was an excellent square dancer and along with her husband help to organize and teach several square dance clubs.
She was a lifetime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Ludington. Funeral services will be at Emanuel Lutheran Church located at 501 E. Danaher Street in Ludington on December 22, 2014 at 11 am with visitation from 10-11 and luncheon following in Luther Hall. Memorial contributions can be made to Harbor Hospice or Emanuel Lutheran Church.
